Two political prisoners, Alexander Roberto Fernández Rigo and Arturo Suárez Ramos, on Tuesday, June 9, started hunger strikes to protest human rights violations against political prisoners in Cuba, according to a report posted at Payo Libre.
Earlier, prison officials cracked down on Suárez after they learned of a photo-report, consisting of 36 photographs, he had comprised about conditions in the prison.
Fernández and Suárez vowed to continue their protest until the Castro dictatorship halts its repression and harassment of political prisoners.
Suárez, imprisoned since 1987, is serving a 30-year sentence for air piracy. I could not find any background information about Fernández.
