Editor's note: The power of the World Wide Web is being mobilized today to demand freedom for Cuba, with blogs, Web sites and other locales on the Internet uniting in once voice.
Call to the Cuban government and to the world. We ask all persons and institutions defenders of civil rights in the world that they contribute to this mobilization, and we call the Cuban government to:
- Liberate the political prisoners.- Abolish the interdictions which prevent the Cubans from entering and leave of their country.
- Abolish the interdictions of access in Internet for the Cubans.
Editor's note: That there are Cubans imprisoned because of their beliefs and/or their activities on behalf of freedom, democracy and human rights is best evidence of the tyrannical nature of the Castro dictatorship. As such, the prisoners' fate must always be at the forefront when considering what to do about Cuba.
As for the other demands, these and many other liberties are absent in Cuba. As long as they are restricted or outright banned, Cubans are not free.
And the rest of the world is less free because of it.
