Via Twitter, Cuban independent journalist Guillermo Farinas reported late Sunday that two prominent Cuban activists, Angel Moya Acosta and Juan Francisco Sigler Amaya, were beaten and arrested by Cuban police in the town of Pedro Betancourt, in Matanzas province.
Moya was one of the former Group of 75 political prisoners who chose to remain in Cuba rather than accept forced exile. Sigler has two brothers, Ariel and Guido, who were part of the Group of 75.
Details of the arrests were not immediately available.
