The Castro dictatorship's 53-year-long crackdown on the Cuban people, and freedom, continued at furious pace in July.
Two human rights groups on the island, the Cuban Commission on Human Rights -- 406 -- and the Hablemos Press news agency (CIHPRESS) -- 429 -- disagree on how many politically motivated arrests the Castro police made last month. But the point is clear: Nothing has changed in Cuba, especially the regime's disdain for, and fear of, the Cuban people -- especially those Cubans with the courage to publicly resist the dictatorship.
