Whichever numbers you rely on, repression in Cuba has hit a torrid pace.
Earlier this week, the Cuban Commission on Human Rights and National Reconciliation reported that by the end of the year, the number of political arrests in 2012 was likely to surpass the total number for 2010 and 2011, combined.
On Thursday, another human rights group, the CIHPRESS news agency, reported there were 440 arrests in November, bringing the total for the year to 4,982. At the currently monthly pace for the year, CIHPRESS's count will, too, surpass the total for the past two years.
Whichever numbers you rely on, they do not lie.
