Their intentions are equally honorable, but two human rights monitoring groups in Cuba can never agree precisely on how the bad the political repression is on the island.
Earlier, we reported that one group, the CIHPRESS news agency, had recorded 471 political arrests in February.
The same day CIHPRESS reported its findings, another organization, the Cuban Commission on Human Rights and National Reconciliation reported there were at least 504 arrests last month.
The product of how difficult it is in Cuba to hold the government to account for its repression, it really is a difference without a distinction, as the trends reported by the two organizations is identicial: The repression is rising.
