For the 14th Sunday in a row, the Castro regime on Sunday unleashed its goons to attack and arrest the Damas De Blanco, or "Ladies In White," and their supporters as they attempted to make their way to Sunday Mass. The Damas in the city of Colon, in Matanzas province, again suffered the worst of it, but there were reports of similar incidents from elsewhere on the island.
Several prominent dissidents, including former prisoners of conscinece Ivan Hernandez Carrillo and Angel Moya Costa, again took to Twitter to inform the world about what was happening. Hernandez was able to include several photos as part of his dispatches, as you can see below.
Also including in the compilation below are a couple tweets from a pro-Castro tweeter who goes by the handle Yusnaby, in which he all but previews that more attacks and arrests will happen on Monday, if the Damas attempt to commemorate the second anniversary of the death of the group's founder, Laura Pollan.
No warning was necessary, as the regime and its agents have been ruthless, and predictable, in their attacks on the Damas. But his tweets do again remind the world the true nature of the regime, and the importance of the struggle that the Damas, and others opposed to the Castro dictatorship, are carrying on in the name of justice and freedom for all Cubans.
