Choice tidbits keep coming out about Fidel Castro's televised denial Monday of a Forbes magazine story that he is worth $900 million.
Castro said he has no money, and that he lives on his state salary of $53 per month.
If that's true, who's his broker?
Castro, who last year threatened to sue the magazine, said he has no idea what the Forbes story, which he denounced as a "repugnant slander," is talking about.
"If they can prove that I have a bank account abroad, with $900 million, with $1 million, $500,000, $100,000 or $1 in it, I will resign," Castro said at the end of a four-hour broadcast.
"It is so ridiculous to say I have a fortune of $90 0million, a fortune with no heirs. What would I need all that money for, if I will soon be 80 years old?"
It is even more ridiculous to believe Castro will keep his promise to resign if someone finds his missing millions.
H/T to El Confeti who raises an excellent question:
"(H)ow come (Castro) is not objecting to being categorized a dictator?"
