We've all been named Time magazine's "Persons of the Year."
I'd like to thank everyone who made it possible.
It seems kind of silly that we would all be honored just because we surf the Web or send e-mails. With such a gimmick, you have to wonder whether Time's perennial look at who had the biggest impact on the year's news has run its course.
But on a serious note, it is important to remember that in much of the world --- like in China and in Cuba --- people do not have the free, unfettered access to the Internet like most of us enjoy in the United States and the rest of the free world. None of us are really winners until that is changed.
One final note: You have to wonder whether Time magazine's award means anything to someone like Guillermo Farinas.
