One week ago this morning, Cuban police rolled up to the apartment of journalist Ahmed Rodríguez Albacia, seized his laptop computer and other items of his trade, and took him to jail.
He has not been heard from since.
But he has not been forgotten, as his mothers and others have done all they can think of — a hunger strike, a news conference, etc. — to draw attention to Rodríguez, who turned 22 on Sunday while sitting in a jail cell.
The latest to join the campaign for his release is the anti-government Cuban Foundation for Human Rights, which over the weekend held a day of prayer for Rodríguez and for Raimundo Perdigón Brito, another journalist who last week was convicted and sentenced to 4 years in prison for being a "pre-criminal social danger."
