Armando Sosa Fortuny is one of the foot soldiers in the battle for Cuban liberty.
In October 1994, he and six other Cuban exiles were captured after they landed by boat in Villa Clara province, with the apparent intent to foment rebellion in the Cuban mountains. They were all tried and sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
Sosa, who had been jailed as a political prisoner before he took exile in the United States, was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Sosa Fortuny has worked tirelessly for Cuba’s freedom since the Castro regime assumed power. He was a political prisoner who served a very long sentence before he was allowed to leave Cuba for the United States. His case number before his infiltration was 284/60 and his prisoner identification number was 27411 when he was confined to the prison in Isla de Pinos. Always searching for new ways to liberate his country, Sosa Fortuny was arrested while carrying out a a successful mission which called for him infiltrating Cuba.
The others arrested with Sosa included previous political prisoners of the week Miguel Díaz Bouza and Humberto Eladio Real Suarez.
