A few years ago in Miami, I met the Bay of Pigs veteran and former CIA agent who helped capture Ernesto "Ché" Guevara in the mountains of Bolivia, and 42 years ago today failed to dissuade the Bolivian army from executing the murdering bastard. Felix Rodriguez is both a Cuban patriot and an American hero, and I am still in awe that I got to shake his hand.
The anniversary of Guevara's death is not a day to celebrate, but to remember his millions of victims, which include Cubans enslaved to this day on the island. It also is a reminder that struggle for Cuban liberty will remain unfinished as long as his victims do not have justice, and as long as there are those who insist on idolizing the butcher of La Cabaña.
If you know such an idiot, suggest they re-educate themselves.
And read about my meeting with Rodriguez here.
