Several more Cuban political prisoners have declared themselves on hunger strikes to protests this week's death of fellow prisoner Orlando Zapata Tamayo.
According to independent journalist Agustin Miranda Rodriguez, the protesters include Lemay Díaz Pantaleón, Rafael Suárez Aviló, Orestes Paino, Pavel Hernández, Miguel Hernández and Víctor Rolando Arroyo Carmona, all inmates at the Kilo 5 1/2 prison in Pinar del Rio.
These are in addition to other prisoners who started hunger strikes after Zapata, 42, died Tuesday, some 80 days after he started a hunger strike to demand that his human rights be respected.
