Dr. Darsi Ferrer
Just received word from the editor of PayoLibre.com that Cuban political prisoner Dr. Darsi Ferrer, held without charges since last July, has started a hunger strike.
Ferrer, a physician, journalist and human rights activist, started his protest on Saturday, March 20.

UPDATED, 11:30 p.m. EDT -- Eight months after his imprisonment, Dr. Ferrer is stuck in legal limbo, thanks to the Castro dictatorship's "justice" system.
UPDATED, 8 p.m. EDT, March 23, 2010 -- Dr. Ferrer started hunger strike to demand needed dental care. He currently is being held in a punishment cell at the Valle Grande prison.
