The Castro dictatorship has had a rough month, what with the likes of Orlando Zapata Tamayo, Guillermo Fariñas and Darsi Ferrer sacrificing themselves to expose the truth about Cuba under its tyrannical rule. The public relations blows suffered by the regime may never heal, as international governments and individuals that once celebrated the Castros now condemn them for their human rights abuses and demand the release of political prisoners.
The regime, however, is not going down without a fight, launching its own p.r. blitz to counter the renewed attention.
Of course, this coming from the Castro dictatorship, it's all lies.
For example, in response to Fariñas' protests and his almost daily interview with international media, the Cuban government, with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez in the leading role, has accused Fariñas, on hunger strike since Feb. 24, of being manipulated by foreign "enemies" of Cuba.
In response, Fariñas told Radio Martí he is not being manipulated by anyone, but it would be true to describe him as "an enemy of the Cuban revolution" and a proud "counter-revolutionary."
Presumably with tongue in cheek, Fariñas implored Rodriguez to show him, a man willing to die for his ideals, a little more respect.
Fariñas also called on Rodriguez to follow his example in demonstrating his disgust with the supposed lies and his loyalty to the Castros.
"I am invite him if he is defending the government, to please declare a hunger strike against the media campaign that he says is against Cuba
