The I Accuse the Cuban Government blog has the latest on Cuban prisoner of conscience Egberto Escobedo, who has been on hunger strike since April 16:
Radio Martí informs [in Spanish] that according to the wife of political prisoner Egberto Escobedo Morales, he has been transferred to a hospital in the Cuban capital, La Habana. His health has deteriorated due to his hunger strike.
Escobedo has conducted a two month and two day long hunger strike in solidarity with Guillermo Fariñas, and as a show of support of those Cubans who refused to participate in the regime's electoral farce in April of this year.
He's been serving a twenty year sentence since 1995.
The Miami Herald has more about Escobedo.
And in Spanish, so does Cuban Democratic Directorate.
