Sara Martha Fonseca Quevedo is one of the Cuban dissidents arrested Monday during a protest on the steps of the University of Havana.
It was not the veteran human rights activist's first run-in with the authorities this year.
For example, she was one of the women roughed up during a protest by the Damas De Blanco to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the "black spring" crackdown of 2003.
From that protest, came these iconic images, highlighting both the cruelty of the Castro dictatorship and the courage of those Cuban women who refuse to back down.
Read more about this Cuban patriot, en español, here.
She's also featured in this video I produced earlier this year.
