Cuban political prisoner Rafael Ibarra Roque has served more than 16 years of a 20-year sentence, suffering the worst that his jailers have to offer their captives. No one could blame him if someone offered him a chance to get out, and he took it.
But Ibarra is his own man, which is why he reporteldly told Cardinal Jaime Ortega, "No, thanks," when the Catholic prelate/Castro regime apologist called recently to gauge whether Ibarra would be willing to accept exile to Spain in exchange for release from jail.
When he is released from prison, Ibarra wrote in a letter to fellow political Egberto Escobedo, he will do whatever he wants.
