No one one frightens the Castro dictatorship more than those Cubans with the courage to stand up to and resist its tyranny, and a track record of success in prevailing in those confrontations.
The would be one explanation for why the dictatorship's secret police has gone to the extreme of installing a spycam to keep a closer eye on one of its most forceful critics, the independent journalist Guillermo Fariñas.
The surveillance camera was recently installed about 80 meters from Fariñas' home in Santa Clara, an invasion of not only Fariñas' privacy but those of his neighbors, according to a Radio Martí report.
Apparently, the secret police wants to keep close tabs on other dissidents, foreign journalists and diplomats who frequently visit Fariñas — arguably, one of the giants of the Cuban opposition for his commitment to the cause and the lengths he has gone to show his rejection of Castroism.
