Cuban dissident Guillermo Farinas ends hunger strike

Via Twitter, former prisoner of conscience Jose Daniel Ferrer Garcia and journalist/blogger Luis Felipe Rojas report that Guillermo Farinas has decided to end his hunger strike.

Numerous dissidents, including Reina Luisa Tamayo, had implored Farinas to end his hunger strike, which he had started June 3 to demand an independent investigation of the police beating death last month of dissident Juan Wilfredo Soto Garcia.

Farinas had also refused to drink water, which had hastened the ill effects of his protest.
