Ten members of the Laura Pollan Damas De Blanco, or "Ladies In White," were among severa dissidents arrested in Santiago de Cuba as they tried to gather for Mass on Sunday morning, according to Cubaencuentro.com, citing reports from former prisoner of conscience Jose Daniel Ferrer Garcia.
Those arrested were: Aymeé Garcés Leyva, Belkis Cantillo Ramírez, Vivian Peña Hernández, Liudmila Rodríguez Palomo, Diana Núñez Pascual, María Elena Matos, Oria Casanova Moreno, Yuremi González Pavót, Tania Bandera González and Ana Celia Rodríguez Torres. Also detained was Ferrer's 14-year-old daughter Marta Beatriz Ferrer Cantillo.
Ferrer reported that Aymeé Garcés and her husband Julio César Válcarcel had been released, but the others remained in custody.
