The Castro dicatorship has advised the family of jailed dissidents Sara Fonseca and her husband Julio Leon to hire a lawyer, a suggestion that indicates the regime plans to formally prosecute the couple because of their anti-communist activism.
"They ordered me to get a lawyer," said the couple's son, Juwwwlio Leon Fonseca. "Tomorrow, I'm going to a sign a contract with one, because they have already given me a case number for my parents, which is 12/854/2011."
Several dissidents on Wednesday stood vigil outside the police station where Sara Fonseca, who faces charges of "disrespect" and "assault," is being held.
"Today, I will able to see my mother," Julio Fonseca said. "She told me that she remains firm in her struggle, and that she is thankful for the solidarity of public opinion."
