Cuba independent journalist Enyor Diaz Allen arrested in Guantanamo

Enyor Diaz Allen, an independent journalist and former political prisoner, was arrested Tuesday evening while leaving the home of a fellow activist, according to the CIHPRESS news agency.

Diaz, a correspondent for the news agency, and another activist Óscar Sabón Pantoja, had just left the Guantanamo home of Yordis Garcia when they were arrested on the street outside.

Garcia said police had besieged his home and those of other activists after signs carrying anti-dictatorship slogans began appearing in town.

Allen's brother Eider Frometa Allen has been detained since he was arrested on Saturday.
