Each reason is represented by each of the 43 dissidents arrested during a crackdown in Santiago de Cuba launched this week after the pope returned to Rome.
The pope was silent about the human rights abuses in Cuba, giving the Castro regime all the cover it needed to resume and increase the repression against some of the nation's most valiant freedom fighters.
Nothing surprising about this, but the confirmation provided by the regime only adds to the tragedy of the pope's visit.
