The Cuban secret police in May made at least 343 politically-motivated arrests, bringing the total for the year to 2,258, according to Hablemos Press (CIHPRESS).
In all of 2011, there were 3,835 arrests -- a mark that will be surpassed if the current rate of repression continues. This being Cuba under a Castro regime afraid to death of its own demise, there is no reason to expect that it won't.
