Cubans on the island are rising up to demand that the Castro regime release political prisoner and independent journalist Calixto Ramon Martinez Arias, in jail unjustly since Sept. 16 and on hunger strike since Nov. 10.
"The government authorities ought to release him immediately and unconditionally, because he is innocent. The only thing he has done for years is practice his profession," said Caridad González González, head of the Federation of Latin American Women (FLAMUR) in Matanzas province, according to a report posted at PayoLibre.com.
As of today, Cuban independent journalist Calixto Ramon Martinez Arias, imprisoned since Sept. 16, has been on hunger strike for one month and two days to protest his ill treatment and to demand his release.
