Dissident lawyer and political prisoner Yelky Puig Rodriguez was paroled from jail last week, according to a report posted on PayoLibre.com.
In Dember 2012 , Puig, a lawyer with the Corriente Agramontista and a member of the Cuban Independent and Democratic Party, was sentenced to 1 year in prison after he was convicted of "disrespect" and "resistance" during a sham trial in Pinar del Rio.
Puig, who was released Aug. 29, vowed to resume his work for democratic reforms in Cuba.
"They imprisoned me unfairly, but they could not change my convictions," he said.
