Unless you were watching television and movies in the late 1980s, you may not recognize Ken Wahl. Not long after hitting it big with "Wiseguy," one of the best cops-and-crooks dramas ever aired, Wahl retired from Hollywood to the relative anonymity of the real world.
I hadn't thought much of Wahl until earlier today when on Twitter, he responded to a retweet of my tweet about a new report that shows there are at least 114 political prisoners in Cuban jails:
@MACfansOficial @marcmasferrer Thanks, but I only need one reason not to... Communism.

@KenWahl1 @MACfansOficial And for some, unfortunately, there aren't enough reasons to convince them otherwise.
— Marc R. Masferrer (@marcmasferrer) June 24, 2014
Wahl then promptly joined my list of followers on Twitter, and I returned the favor.
I'll stick to what I wrote, but Wahl is right. All of Cuba's current ills are because of communism and how as an instrument of the Castro brothers, it has been used to impoverish and repress the Cuban people. The story is the same in other countries that have been similarly scourged.
That's enough to condemn the regime, and not look the other way as we look for new business opportunities or a new place to vacation. Thank you, Ken Wahl, for reminding us of the obvious.
