About 100 members of the Cuban Damas De Blanco ("Ladies In White") were arrested Sunday as they attempted to march to the sea to pay tribute to the 37 men, women and children murdered by the Castro dictatorship in the "13 de marzo" tugboat massacre of July 13, 1994. Among those arrested was the group's leader, Berta Soler, and her husband, the former prisoner of conscience Angel Moya.
There were reports of similar arrests in Colon, in Matanzas province, where each Sunday for the past year the police have targeted the Damas and other activists as they go to and/or from Mass.
As usual, activists -- including Moya -- took to Twitter to report on what was happening.
