Morera is November was sentenced to 8 years in prison on charges of public disorder, assault, "disrespect" and "injuries," in connection with how he reacted when police raided the home of another activist in February 2013.
According to Linares, Morera started his latest hunger strike on June 16. He is suffering from low blood pressure and has become cyanotic, meaning his skin is turning blue due to the tissues near the skin surface having low oxygen saturation.
